  1. Found that out when I ruptured a disc in my back years ago. Two weeks with almost zero exercise and much time in bed Andi lost a ton of muscle mass. It took me a damn year to get it back. I swim at least 4 days a week and work outside lifting heavy rocks and such. I have big muscles for a 70 year old woman. I might even see them when I get the fat off!

    1. Oh too much bed rest will kill you. It was a big part of my husband’s decline and death, and he was only 53. There has been a couple of times when I have had the flu and was bedridden for ten days and by the time I was over it I was so weak and thin and could barely walk. I have a friend in the hospital right now that had part of his intestines taken out and he said he is regretful that he waved of physical therapy for over a week. He said he is devastated that he can barely walk now.
