I’m planning on changing of to a more focused way of eating… little to no starch, low fat, low/no PUFA – but Protein sources are my biggest concern. I can certainly eat low fat meat, gelatin powder, or potato juice, but should I continue with staple – dairy? I feel like I tolerate dairy well, but I’m consistently “phlegmmy” and when I did drink raw milk for a while, my tongue had a white film coating.
I’m sure my gut is inflamed – signs include: constipation, dark circles under eyes, congestion, and probably more.
Is dairy the culprit? Should I cut it out just to see?

Maybe try goat or sheep dairy. I find this easier digested
Also mercury poisoning stops the enzyme working that digests cow dairy but also sheep and goat dairy I think. Worth looking into that.
Experimentation will tell you more than asking a bunch of strangers on a forum. Dairy is certainly one of those foods that many people seem to have issues with, so you can always experiment by cutting it out for a month or so.
Are you often drinking milk or other liquids with meals? One simple thing you can try is to separate liquids and solid foods. Liquids will dilute stomach acid, and can make digestion more difficult. I’ve been keeping them separate for a few weeks now, and it does seem to help. I put it to the test with a big easter meal….. Steak, creamed spinach, potatoes cooked in coconut oil, and ambrosia salad, all eaten at once. More food than I had eaten in a single meal all year, but no liquids. Never felt full and heavy, in fact, was out for a walk about 40 minutes later and feeling good all around.
Milk with meals might be a doulbe whammy. The liquid would dilute stomach acid and raise the pH, and the calcium in the milk would neutralize some of the acid and raise pH even more.

Last year for the first time I added the raw carrot recommendation mixed with coconut oil, apple cider vinegar, and salt. If anything I’ve added to my diet last year that made a big impact on my gut health, it was the raw carrot.
For many years I had lived without drinking milk. Slowly last year I introduced it to my regimen and noticed an added difference in my gut health.
Maybe take a week or two break from the milk then introduce it back in small amounts with meals; such as 4 oz at a time. My milk options currently are a 2% by Maple Hill Creamery and an A2/A2 milk. I don’t know the brand for that one.
I’ve had the raw carrot salad before. How often did you eat it, how long before you noticed a difference, and what kind of changes did you see?
Improved bowel movements; no more diarrhea. It was 4 or 5 days after starting the raw carrot salad I noticed improvements.
