A Bright Life Inspired by Dr. Raymond Peat
Hi Cari,
I know you preserve fruit, but do you can them for long term use. I want to start a stockpile of stuff, just in case this world becomes crazy again. I want to start canning and saving to last at the least a year. 2-5 would be nice.
Thank you 😊
Hi Beachy! This is a great thread topic. I have only been canning myself since December. I have mostly been experimenting with jams without using pectin or citric acid, just fruit. I did can some fresh mandarin oranges, which I posted about in my RECIPE section, but I ate them too quick to know how they would hold up long term. My father-in-law canned beef once and it was delicious. i don’t trust my abilities yet to do that. Please post back what you learn because this is a good thing for us to know how to do with the world’s precarious food situation.
Maybe get some pointers from your father in law, or better yet, have him show you.
