A Bright Life Inspired by Dr. Raymond Peat
Sometimes you just come across food that seems like its not good, but is actually very good? For example RABBIT MEAT has more iron, more cholesterol and more niacin, magnesium and choline than beef? Beef does win on saturated fat and zinc though.
Shocks me as I used to always hunt rabbits and never thought much of it???
Is there other foods out there like this? Stuff thats not expensive, easy to find and very healthy? Obviously liver is one but there must be other stuff too??
“Oh, no. There were experiments in the 1940’s in which rats were fed stuff out of cans – the usual vegetables, beans, corn, all the standard vegetables and others were fed the same vegetables fresh and raw. And the animals eating the l canned vegetables thrived and the others didn’t.” -Ray Peat

Coconut oil is a lot of bang for the buck…
“When added to a balanced diet, coconut oil slightly lowers the cholesterol level, which is exactly what is expected when a dietary change raises thyroid function. This same increase in thyroid function and metabolic rate explains why people and animals that regularly eat coconut oil are lean, and remarkably free of heart disease and cancer.” -Ray Peat
