Also, while Ray Peat talked very positively about sugar, he never recommended anybody “overconsume” it, so really, saying “don’t overconsume sugar” isn’t “Anti-Peat.” In some ways, it’s really meaningless. What is the objective level for “overconsumption” of sugar, anyways? 50 grams in a day? 400 grams? 3 pounds? 11 pounds? Even when Peat talked about the positive results Doctors Piory and Budd got in the 1800s by using 8-16oz of additional sugar a day, that was not a suggestion that everyone should add that amount to their diet.
