Coffee Orange Peel Ice Cream

I have made a lot of ice cream over the last couple of years, but this new one is my favorite. I just took my basic vanilla ice cream and added instant coffee and orange peel to it. People marvel how good my vanilla is, and are surprised to find that there is no egg yolks or cream. I make mine with sweetened condensed milk. It is important when making this ice cream that the whole milk and sweetened condensed milk is very cold.

Tp make this coffee orange peel ice cream, start by combining in a blender, 3 cups of whole milk, a can of CHILLED sweetened condensed milk, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, the zest of one big orange, and 4 teaspoons instant coffee. Blend everything on high speed for a couple of minutes, to whip air into the mixture. Pour into your ice cream maker and turn it on!

What I like about this my basic vanilla ice cream is that it has everything that is so Ray Peat, the coffee, the milk, the orange peels. I also like how much healthier it is than Haagen Daz. Here is the comparison.

Haagen Daz Vanilla: 23 grams fat, 5 grams protein, 10% calcium.

My Vanilla: 11 grams fat, 11 grams protein, 35% calcium

Ray Peat emphasized the importance of using coffee properly, by having it with protein, or after a meal and this ice new coffee ice cream flavor is it! This ice cream is better for me than a cup of coffee in the morning! Like Ray Peat said, “I think people shouldn’t eat things that damage them, and should eat things that taste good ad that provide the essential nutrients, while making them feel good and function well; is that a diet?” Don’t even bring up the danger’s of sugar either, because what happens when you go to the hospital and need your life saved? They put a needle in your vein and pump you full of sugar and salt. Then they give you a menu with ice cream, pudding and jello to choose from, all those good old fashioned foods from the “good old days”, when hardly anybody was fat. So have some coffee ice cream for breakfast!

“In recent years there have been studies showing that regular milk drinkers are less fat than people who don’t drink it. Although the high quality protein and saturated fat undoubtedly contribute to milk’s anti-obesity effect, the high calcium content is probably the main factor.” -Ray Peat

    1. Joann, Check Craig’s list. That’s where I got mine at half the price. It was little used and still in the box. It’s one of those things that people do for awhile and then give up on it for one reason or another. Like exercise equipment!
