Here is an email between Dr. Raymond Peat and I….
Me: “Hello again Dr. Peat!
Per your recommendation, I have been using
orange peels in many places. (I attached pics
of some of my places for them). Are other
citrus peels beneficial too?”
Ray Peat: “I think they are all good, as long as they are
organic.”
Me: “Great! I use Meyer’s lemon marmalade for
different things, but wondered mostly about
grapefruit and lime peels.”
Ray Peat: “I haven’t tried limes or tangerines, but
grapefruit is very good.”
Me: “Well I am gonna see what I can make with
them! Thank you!”
The key to my success in eating everything I want and not gaining weight is just strategy. Food pairing, timing and food preparation, has been just as important as my food choices. I don’t spend a lot of time cooking each meal, but I make each meal have a reason. Mindless eating is a shame. Two people could eat the same exact list of foods and have a different weight loss outcome depending on when each ate those same foods. This discovery in my own life has been a game changer. This cheese and fruit pairing is a powerful combination not only for the benefits of the peels, but also brie is excellent for oral care. Brie kills bad bacteria in the mouth, keeping gingivitis, cavities and bad breath away. The fats and sugar in this combination sets me up for a really good night sleep as well. The only problem with this combination is not overeating it. Brie is high in fat so it is good for a night snack when losing weight, but not a great pairing past that for losing weight.
