A Bright Life Inspired by Dr. Raymond Peat
I have family members that have diabetes and have made the observation that when they consume fruit their blood sugar does not rise. While most around in the family were skeptical of this claim, I thought of this observation on potassium, in a podcast with Jodelle Haidut made the statement that potassium does eighty five percent or more of the lifting for utilization of glucose into the cell.
Magnesium is also noted to be a master controller for blood sugar. From this point of view the point that diabetic people tend to have low magnesium levels seems reasonable. It also would be reasonable to then observe that the claim that sugar depletes magnesium would be a result of the magnesium being used up in the metabolic process of oxidative phosphorylation that burns glucose effectively as well as more efficiently. These are my own thoughts so if I have an error in this line of thoughts I would appreciate any clarification on my error in understanding.
