I ran across this article on DMSO today – from the same author that @J.R.L referenced – the Midwest Doctor. This particular article references, among its many benefits, the ability of DMSO to heal eye injury and improve eyesight.
This sounded familiar, so I went back to the RPF and looked at responses to the @haidut chemicals using DMSO as a solvent. Several of the users claimed “expanded Vision” or “Improved vision” after using Defibron, Metergoline and others.
In his article, the Midwest Doctor references the following:
“Many DMSO users have noticed that their vision improved while they used it for something else (e.g., see this, this and this testimonial from a reader here), which in turn inspired physicians to begin applying it to the eyes of patients with vision problems.”
Is it possible the effects on the eyes and expanded vision were do to the DMSO alone?
It sounds like DMSO has minimal, and short term side effects (reversible irritation, burning sensation, vasodilation) that are far outweighed by the benefits. One of them is potential relief from Tinnitus, which I’ve had for a while. Other treatments include, circulatory and neurological disorders (e.g., varicose veins, hemorrhoids, Down Syndrome, Parkinson’s and arthritis. In addition, DMSO by itself is able to increase parasympathetic activity, has strong anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.
Here’s a partial list of successes:
