Hello everyone! I have an update. I previously posted that I was having a hard time with my diet, and being post-menopausal, I had started noticing fat accumulation all over my body and specifically in the abdomen area. Cari and others suggested I limit the starches. Being Latin, I thought it was impossible for me to give up my rice or yuca, etc. but I did it, and I must say it worked! The fat layer disappeared from my body and my muscle mass has increased dramatically. Thanks guys!
I now have a different issue. My boyfriend (who doesn’t understand/agree with the Ray Peat way of eating yet) has told me he’s worried about the amount of animal products I am consuming. He also told me, while being very careful not for it to sound like criticism, that my breath has changed its smell. He says he doesn’t think it’s an oral hygiene problem. He thinks it’s coming from my lungs directly, and he thinks that the animal products I’m consuming are the reason.
Has anyone else heard of this? Perhaps I’m overdoing the meat or the protein? I do eat a lot of fruits, but I hardly eat green salads or veggies, which is what he prefers to eat. Perhaps there’s more fine tuning that I need to do. I start most days with eggs, cheese and OJ, then have lamb with fruit (like stewed apples) for lunch, I have a carrot salad, fruit and goat cheese and home made bone broth as a snack, and then dinner with seafood with stewed fruit for dinner, with milk, honey and collagen as a before sleep snack.
Any ideas? I have noticed a strong taste in my mouth when I wake up in the morning.
